Admission Policies
Peter Rabbit Day Care shall not admit or maintain any child whose needs it obviously cannot meet or whose behavior would be dangerous for other children in the day care. This shall be determined by the Director before the child is admitted or during the period, the child is enrolled in Peter Rabbit Day Care.
No one can be admitted to Peter Rabbit Day Care without a pre-entrance health examination including immunizations and tuberculin testing. Peter Rabbit notifies parents of any significant occurrences or problems, which affect the child. Exposure to communicable diseases is posted on the front door.
Peter Rabbit Day Care's discipline policies are: No child shall ever be spanked, jerked, shook or hit in any way.
Brief, supervised separation from the group is used if necessary.
Children shall not be humiliated or subjected to abusive or profane language. Punishment shall not be associated with food, rest, or toilet training. Bedwetters shall not be shamed or punished.
All tuition fees are due and payable on Monday for the current week, and can be paid on a weekly basis, or in advance. DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. There is a $5.00 bookkeeping fee for payments received after WEDNESDAY. A two-week notice must be given when removing your child from Peter Rabbit Day Care. All fees and tuition must be paid in full at this time.
We open at 6:30 a.m. and promptly close at 6:00 p.m. It is important that you pick up your child by closing time; otherwise, it will be necessary for your Director to charge a late fee of $1.00 for every minute after 6:00 p.m. After being late 3 times, January to January, this would be reason for termination.
We will be closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. If one of the mentioned holidays occurs on Saturday, we will be close for the day on that Friday. Peter Rabbit will close at 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, should they fall during the workweek. There is NO reduction in tuition for our holidays. We make absolutely no exceptions to this policy.
After a child has been enrolled for six consecutive months, the parents may, with prior notification to the business manager, take 10 days without paying. The child, while still enrolled, must not be at Peter Rabbit during those 10 days. This only applies to those continuously enrolled.
Example: If a child began June 1st and was continuously enrolled for six months, the parents are entitled to take 10 free days after December 1st. But it must be taken before December 1st of the next year or it is forfeited. Thereafter, your eligibility dates would be December 1st to December 1st.
Peter Rabbit reserves the right to revise any fees and/or policies after proper notification to the parents.
Parents will provide Peter Rabbit with the names of all persons authorized to pick up their children. Peter Rabbit assumes no liability if not properly advised.
A child must be left with a staff member upon arrival at the Center and a staff member must be notified when a student is leaving.
In order that a child not be disappointed with a lost or broken toy, we prefer that they use the toys we provide. Please leave all toys at home with the exception of Show and Tell days.
Children who are ill MUST NOT be brought to Peter Rabbit. Since we have no facilities to care for these children, anyone who becomes ill will be isolated and the parent notified to take him home.
Medication given to a child at Peter Rabbit must be authorized by a written statement from a Physician. All medication must remain in the original container, indicating the child's name, type and date of prescribed medication, amount and time of dosage. This statement must be renewed regularly. Parents must complete a medication form in order for medicine to be administered. Without a completed form, NO medicine is given.
To help you evaluate your child's progress at the center, parent-teacher conferences are held twice a year. Please call Peter Rabbit should you have additional questions. (317) 844-0751
